I would say it is certainly worth the $35 though. The endgame isn't nearly as fully featured as something like PoE. The planned trading system sounds like it will avoid some of the real problems that PoE's system has, like flipping and needing to spam message 20 people to get an item.ĭownsides of last epoch? It isn't done, and development is quite slow. Each skill in last epoch having its own passive tree is pretty neat, as some of the nodes can greatly transform how a skill works. Any PoE player would kill for that to be added to their game. For instance, in LE items drop identified and your loot filter works on items that have dropped on the ground. For most things that PoE does wrong, last epoch tends to have a good solution for how to fix it. Last Epoch is a game with a lot of good ideas. PoE also retains a lot of cruft from older ARPGs that they should probably shed, like identifying items and magic find. It feels like they don't really know who they are making the game for any more. GGG has been making decisions recently which have been putting a lot of people off, myself included. Their currency system is pretty genius, with every item having some kind of crafting utility. If you want a game you can play endlessly with a lot of options and character tweaking, it is a good choice. PoE definitely has the most content of the three games by a huge margin. I would say it has better visual clarity than PoE or last Epoch. That said, D3 does have some things going for it. I find diablo 3 is only fun for a couple of days at the start of a season, before it just becomes a paragon grind for larger numbers and better versions of the gear you already have.
